One question that Donna & I ask ourselves almost everyday is "How does anyone without the Lord handle something like Brain cancer?"
To Christians, this is easy - we have Jesus Christ! For the non-Christians and skeptics, I have written a Q&A to address many of the same type of questions that I had before I became a Christian.
If you have any other questions, please take a few moments to send us an Email. We will be glad to take the time to answer any questions that you may have about Jesus.
What do these words mean? To understand what salvation is about and what being saved means, we need to understand that all people have a problem. This problem is called sin.
What is sin? We commit sin when we do things that are contrary to God's will.
Who is guilty of sin? We all are. According to the Bible, everyone is guilty of sin. Romans 3:23 states "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"
So? Why is this a problem? The problem is that the penalty of sin is death as stated in the Bible in Romans 6:23. This means that because of our sin, when we die, we deserve to go to Hell, no matter what that sin is.
What can be done about this? First, we need to realize that Jesus paid for our sin by dying on the cross in our place.
Why did He do this? Because He loves us.
What can I do? Believe in your heart that Jesus Christ has already paid your debt of sin and confess it to be true. The Bible tells us in Romans 10:9-10, "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."
How can I do this? Ask Jesus into your heart. "Whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13.
You can do this by praying a very simple prayer. An example of your prayer can be like this: "Lord, please forgive me of my sins that I have committed against you. I believe in my heart that you died for my sin and that you were raised from the dead. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I ask for you to come into my heart and to save me. I ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Is that all there is to it? Yes! Jesus has done all of the work because salvation is a gift from God. There is nothing that you can do to be saved. You can't work for it, you can't be good enough, you can't be religious enough. Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast."
Have you done this? If you have, or if you have any questions about salvation, I encourage you to contact myself or a local BIBLE BELIEVING church in your area. You may also contact my home church of Shadowbrook by calling the church office at 770-945-1524. Ask to speak to one of our ministers and they will by happy to answer any questions that you have. Or, you can Email me by clicking here with any questions that you may have.
For God so
loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in
him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into
the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
